Videography
Making videos was always something I enjoyed as a child. Back in the day, I’d bust out my action figures, draw backgrounds on large papers, and shoot short videos with my camera. These days, I am much more versed in video editing software, allowing me to do so much more than I ever could before.
Animation
Animation was something that I always wanted to learn. Eventually, I got around to doing so, and it really caught me by surprise at how complex it is. There are so many different ways to animate through the Adobe Creative Suite that it was overwhelming. Once I learned a little more about After Effects, realizing I could incorporate my Illustrator and Photoshop projects, I started to really enjoy it. These are just a few of my short animated sequences I created.
Stock Music Video
This was a short little music video animation I made using After Effects. I took a literal approach and made a short animation of the sheet music being played in real time with the music. I was able to replicate this pretty easily because I used to play a little guitar myself. This was one of my first larger projects when I learned After Effects, so I pushed it further by making my own Illustrator files to use in the video.
Movie Bumper
One of the more interesting projects I had to create with After Effects was a movie bumper. A bumper is basically a short animation that plays after a movie, telling you what movies are coming up later on the television station. Since I primarily use Illustrator for a lot of my work, I once again made my own assets to use for this animation; however, there was one asset I did have to incorporate later, which was the intruder, a figure that intrudes into the movie bumper to deliver news of their own. I had to cut out this figure frame-by-frame and place them within the bumper. At the bottom, you will see my animation of the movie bumper: one with the intruder and one without.

Bumper Ad (with Interloper)
As a kid, I always enjoyed making my own videos at home. I remember my parents buying me my first video camera from Best Buy and when that happened, my imagination ran wild. Heading straight into my basement, I began laying out all my toys and action figures so I could start shooting battles and fight scenes. I even drew on some paper to make some backgrounds to help visualize the scene better. That creativity of making my own homemade videos never went away, and it is what pushed me to learn how to edit videos so I could make new videos even better.
Video Editing
Birdwatching
This was a video I edited together about a woman enjoying some birdwatching. This video is one of the first editing jobs I was given. I had to compile all the different scenes personally using the script as my only guideline. The script also requested edits for music and audio as well, meaning I had to edit each scene along with the music and audio all separately.
My Hobby
Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. That is a grown young man playing with his LEGO. LEGO is one of my oldest hobbies I have, and to this day I still enjoy collecting new sets and building them. I really like posing them alongside my other sets to sort of create a presentable scene. This video is a small showcase of what that process is like; I’ll be in a more exaggerated and playful manner.
